Dr. Nawlo’s teaching philosophy is rooted in transformative learning, emphasizing that the process of learning—questioning, reflecting, and engaging—is just as important as the content itself. She believes that growth and transformation are more significant than mere accuracy and strives to create an environment where students feel empowered to challenge themselves and each other.
Dr. Nawlo holds a bachelor’s in communications, a master’s in journalism, an MBA, and a doctorate in education. Her doctoral research focused on reducing writing apprehension in business communication students through metacognitive approaches like self-annotation writing. This work highlights her commitment to fostering confidence and skill development in her students.
With over 15 years of experience in the corporate world across various industries, Dr. Nawlo has a deep understanding of professional communication and behavior. Her passion for teaching was ignited during her time training younger colleagues, a turning point that inspired her transition to academia. Today, she integrates her professional experience into her teaching, preparing students to navigate and excel in the workplace.
Outside the classroom, Dr. Nawlo is a proud parent of twin boys and enjoys outdoor activities such as camping, as well as expressing her creativity through oil pastel painting. These interests reflect her belief in the importance of balance, creativity, and adventure in both life and learning.
